第七百二十一章 迷域之终结

Of course, all of this was just Li Fan's speculation.

His understanding of the Heaven and Earth Reversal and Immortality Contention was still too shallow. He could only analyze based on the different historical evolutions of the Xuanhuang World he had experienced. He could only see the surface but not grasp the essence.

Perhaps, only when he truly reached the realm of Heaven and Earth Reversal would he be able to understand what happened in the Xuanhuang World during this period.

While Li Fan was deep in thought, Huangfu and Dongfang's dispute came to a tentative agreement.

They shouldn't act recklessly just because they could revive from death. They still needed to cherish their lives.

But if they had ample resources, it wouldn’t hurt to buy some treasures like the Soul Cleansing Formula or the Revival Edict as their last trump cards. After all, life and death are unpredictable; no one could guarantee that they wouldn't suddenly fall in battle. Preparation was always better than none.

"Those resurrected cultivators we've seen so far are still just a few cases. I wonder what impact it will have on the Xuanhuang World when many more die and then come back to life after eighteen years," Huangfu Song sighed.

"I don't know how things will turn out in the future, but it's clear that the day of fully exploring the White Mist Barrier is drawing near!" Dongfang Yao coldly snorted as he watched another Prajna True Boat pass by swiftly.

"Brother Li, if you want to exchange for the [Final Stone Plate], we might have to move faster," he reminded him.

"Almost there. Completing one more迷宫 will give us ten thousand Qingxuan Points." Li Fan nodded and carefully listened to the sounds coming from the depths of the white mist, adjusting his direction accordingly.

As they delved deeper into the white mist, Li Fan once again caught a glimpse of "Heavenly Physician's Voice."

This time, however, the voice seemed somewhat different compared to usual. It was as if something was interfering with or distorting its transmission. In Li Fan’s ears, it no longer sounded like "Heavenly Physician." If not for the many times he had heard the cries of the Heavenly Physician in the迷宫 over this period, Li Fan would have struggled to recognize it.

After a moment's contemplation, Li Fan didn't act rashly.

Seeing that Li Fan had stopped, Huangfu and Dongfang hurriedly asked why.

After explaining, they said in unison: "We've been through many storms together. If there’s any danger, we don’t need to be afraid. Besides, we can still revive if something happens. Brother Li, you shouldn't worry; just charge ahead."

It seemed that although they claimed the resurrection was suspicious and needed caution, their minds were more at ease.

After all, they could still revive!

Li Fan let out a faint smile.

"Alright, since both of you brothers say so, we’ll venture into this迷宫," Li Fan said solemnly as he immediately controlled his flying boat towards the direction where the distorted voice came from.

No one knew how long it took before they seemed to cross some indistinct boundary. Suddenly, without any warning, the Prajna True Boat stopped.

"What’s going on, Brother Li?" Huangfu and Dongfang looked at Li Fan in surprise.

"It wasn't me," Li Fan explained.

The three exchanged glances, their faces turning serious.

They scanned around with their divine senses but found nothing unusual around the flying boat. They still couldn’t figure out why it had stopped.

Li Fan thought for a moment before taking out the Black Death Token to protect himself and flew out of the Prajna True Boat.

He wanted to circle around and see what was outside firsthand.

There was nothing above, in front, behind, or on either side. When Li Fan flew beneath the boat, he saw something that made his pupils contract.

Long, black, sticky substances extended from below the white mist, attaching themselves to the bottom of the Prajna True Boat.

These black substances seemed alive, making a "squeaking" sound as they slowly expanded around them.

Li Fan could almost hear their movements beneath the boat.

"What is this..."

His divine senses couldn’t detect anything. He had to rely on his eyes.

Li Fan flicked out a flame, trying to burn off the black sticky substance attached to the ship’s body.

But he was surprised to find that the flames seemed in another space altogether. No matter how intense the flames were, they could not affect the black sticky substance at all.

He then emitted a sword energy, but it still had no effect. It was as if these substances didn’t exist; the sword light passed through them and flew away.

The sticky black substance remained firmly attached to the ship’s body without breaking.

Li Fan stood there for a long time before another surge of spiritual energy emanated from him. Huangfu and Dongfang grew restless, flying out to see this strange scene.

They tried various methods but couldn’t cut off the black sticky substance.

"We can only follow it down to find where it originates," Huangfu Song suggested.

He took out the Sky Measuring Mirror and placed it above his head.

"Indeed, we have entered a new迷宫 that no one else has ventured into." He said with some excitement.

"There are still three Prajna True Boats as backup. However, before we figure out what this thing is, it’s better not to use them; otherwise, if they get entangled again, we might have to fly out of the white mist in our flesh," Dongfang Yao suggested.

Li Fan gave them a reassuring assurance: "It's fine. I have plenty of Black Death Tokens left. Even without the Prajna True Boat, relying on talismans will be enough for us to return safely."

Hearing this, Huangfu and Dongfang praised him: "Brother Li, you handle things properly."

With no worries, the three decided to follow the long black sticky substance downwards.

They flew slowly but found its source after a while. Facing what they saw, all three were speechless.

A large, black sphere hung in mid-air like a tumor, composed of countless black sticky substances.

Over a hundred tentacles shot out from the ball, flying towards different directions in the white mist, seemingly sticking to something.

At first glance, it looked like a huge black net suspended in mid-air, encircling the spherical black mass.

"Can you sense its existence with divine senses?" Huangfu Song asked anxiously through his mental communication.

Li Fan closed his eyes. In his perception, there was nothing ahead. Opening his eyes again, he saw the black sphere.

"I can’t," Li Fan shook his head solemnly.

"Let’s not disturb this thing then. We’ll explore this迷宫 and leave once we’re done." The eerie scene made even the usually bold Dongfang Yao feel a bit uneasy, so he suggested they finish exploring this area before leaving.

Li Fan stared at the black sphere for a long time, nodding slightly.

Something that could shield divine senses was definitely not an ordinary object.

Better safe than sorry.
