第三百五十九章 乱字封迷域

As time passed, the broken stone seemed to lose its original power.

Li Fan paused for a moment before holding his breath and slowly approaching.

Until he reached the broken stone, there was no change in him. However, Li Fan's vigilance did not wane.

This place was filled with various strange phenomena; one could not be careless here.

He did not touch the broken stone but instead observed it from a distance again.

The stone was half buried in the ground and roughly square-shaped, about as wide as a man's outstretched arms. Its edges showed clear signs of fracture, as if cut from a larger whole.

"Perhaps there are other characters before and after '乱'."

Unfortunately, only "乱" remained, with no trace of the surrounding characters.

"This broken stone doesn't seem to have naturally fractured; it looks more like someone deliberately cut it."

"乱."

"Could the strange phenomena centered around this circular pit—such as disorientation and even human mutation—be related to this word?"

"If indeed one character triggers all these anomalies..."

"What is the connection between this '乱字石' and Heavenly Medicine?"

Li Fan pondered for a moment before deciding not to focus on it. Instead, he scanned his surroundings for any signs of an exit.

Unfortunately, at the bottom of the circular pit, apart from the unknown sticky substance covering the ground, there was only this broken stone.

"Given that these monsters act purely by instinct now, they shouldn't deceive me."

After some thought, Li Fan returned to the broken stone and used his spirit energy to lift it out of the ground.

Unlike a precious material or ordinary stone, its weight was similar to a regular one. After removing it, no hidden exit appeared beneath it.

"Strange..."

Li Fan put down the broken stone and rubbed his chin. With time running short, he did not search for other possibilities but instead focused on the stone, trying to determine where the exit might be.

With little time to spare, Li Fan extended a finger and shot out a black light at the stone.

As he retreated, he observed how the Black Sword of Annihilation interacted with the broken stone.

The black sword light flew swiftly towards the stone.

Just before colliding, the black light suddenly distorted. Under Li Fan's watchful eye, three familiar energies separated from it: madness, darkness, and swirling vortexes—representing Heaven's Defiance, Ink's Carnage, and the Five Elements' Power.

Under the influence of the broken stone, the black light gradually faded away. However, these energies that should have been under Li Fan's control began to fight each other.

Simultaneously, an unknown wave erupted from the broken stone, sweeping across the circular pit.

Li Fan was caught off guard and could not dodge in time as it passed through him.

His expression changed abruptly, thinking he had been tricked.

However, contrary to his expectations, this wave was mostly a show of thunder without much rain. He felt an itching sensation all over his body but quickly suppressed by the circulating spirit energy.

Li Fan stared at the broken stone, deep in thought.

"The '乱' character has vanished; it's just a shell with no essence."

"Even so, it can still affect my Black Sword of Annihilation."

...

Li Fan glanced towards where the three energies had纠缠在一起.

In the wave's wake, they had already fought to nothingness. The last black death talisman on his body was nearly invisible.

It seemed like it would collapse at any moment.

If anyone else were in this situation, they would likely be overwhelmed with anxiety and unable to think clearly.

But with the foundation of Truly Real Technique, Li Fan remained calm.

Without worrying about his own peril, he continued to ponder. After many attempts, when the black death talisman finally broke apart, the surrounding white fog no longer restrained him and began to consume his lifespan.

In just a few breaths, Li Fan's age on the True Real panel jumped from 51 to 52.

Though much of his 51st year had already passed, it was clear how quickly the spirit-sapping white fog consumed one's life span.

Despite this, Li Fan remained calm as his lifespan approached a century. Suddenly enlightened, his eyes brightened as he leaped towards the broken stone and traced the "乱" character with his hand.

He wrote each stroke meticulously, the dragon-like script forming instantly in a weak golden glow.

The "乱" character on the stone seemed to regain some luster.

What shocked Li Fan was that when the character reappeared, all the spirit energy within him suddenly vanished.

If not for the Ninefold Golden Core sensing danger and replenishing his depleted body with continuous spirit energy, he would have been drained dry.

Even so, Li Fan felt a blackness before his eyes and nearly fell to the ground.

Fortunately, after absorbing all his spirit energy, the broken stone underwent an inexplicable change.

The characters seemed to come alive, emitting a heart-chilling aura that made the entire stone appear ethereal and glowing in a dreamlike light. Even the spirit-sapping white fog was pushed back by this light, creating a vacuum around it.

Seeing this, Li Fan quickly retreated into the light to avoid further loss of his lifespan.

Perhaps because the broken stone had absorbed his spirit energy during its activation, Li Fan did not feel any effect from it after approaching.

However, constant creaking sounds echoed around him as the sticky substances beneath the ground seemed to come alive and began to twist and move in strange ways.

Li Fan also noticed that the mutated corpse standing motionless in the circular pit was trembling, as if about to spring back to life.

As the instigator of all this, Li Fan felt a chill run down his spine.

"This is not a place to linger."

Observing the flickering broken stone, Li Fan sensed something like an open door he could enter at any time.

His spirit senses did not detect any danger ahead; the only hope lay within.

Without hesitation, Li Fan flew towards it. As expected, the stone seemed non-existent as he passed through it.

Before his eyes, endless white fog filled the space.

Li Fan finally left that eerie maze and returned to the normal white fog barrier.
