第三百五十七章 反折嚎奇冤

Beyond the ruins, there was no longer any trace of corpses.

Instead, the ground stretched out in a desolate silence.

Li Fan did not forget his goal and turned around to search the area once more. After finding nothing useful, he marked the site and chose a direction, flying low across the ground again.

Two days later, Li Fan found another ruined site in the foggy sea. This one was even larger than the first, with a more gruesome scene of piled corpses. The vivid expressions on their faces almost made him feel as if he were at the scene of the crime.

Pushing down his unease, Li Fan searched around. Although there was still nothing valuable to find, several corpses in the sea of dead bodies caught his attention. Most of the cultivators from Site One and Site Two had died instantly, leaving no information other than their terrified expressions. However, a few among them were more powerful, and just before they died, they stared with不甘and resentment at some direction.

It seemed that what took away their lives was right there. Even years after death, they still maintained this posture.

This gave Li Fan directions in the fog. Following these clues, he flew for another day to find Site Three.

Following the same method, Li Fan continued along the path of the murderer: Sites Four, Five, Six...

With supplies dwindling and only enough left to last three more days, Li Fan had encountered eleven sites filled with corpses. As he rushed towards the twelfth site, something strange happened.

He found himself returning to Site Eleven after a short while. Confirming that it was not his imagination by finding his previous markings, Li Fan set off again but ended up back at the same spot.

After circling around, he returned to where he started.

Li Fan pondered for a moment before resuming his journey. He slowed down and constantly sensed the direction of Site Eleven while flying. Finally, he understood what was happening: something had caused him to change directions abruptly without any trace.

During this flight, Li Fan found himself at a location that inexplicably changed his direction. Twice before, he had not noticed it, thinking he was still heading forward.

In reality, he had turned around and returned to the starting point.

Standing in front of the area that brought about this change, Li Fan entered cautiously. His body position did not change, but Site Eleven, which he had sensed behind him, now appeared before him.

Frowning, Li Fan turned back to fly away from Site Eleven. However, his direction again became disoriented.

But with experience, he kept Site Eleven always behind and adjusted his path forward. After much effort and two more days of travel, he finally arrived at Site Twelve.

This site was the largest among all ruins, but there were no corpses around it.

Strange things often happen in unusual situations. Li Fan regained his composure and explored towards the center of the site.

The surroundings were silent. The demonic sounds from the Abyss could not reach here. Apart from his own movements, he had not heard any other noises for a long time.

But as Li Fan approached the center of Site Twelve, a sudden rustling sound made him stand on edge. Through the thinning white fog, he saw a cultivator lying face up with limbs twisted and broken in an unnatural manner. His fingers and toes were twisted into knots, yet these grotesque limbs allowed the cultivator to crawl around aimlessly.

Unendingly, it seemed like this creature would never stop moving.

Li Fan watched the monster that had been alive for who knew how long in the fog, his scalp tingling and heart racing. He slowly backed away while holding his breath.

The twisted creature's perception was sharp; it immediately sensed a stranger approaching. Its head flipped to face him, and it stared intently with its eyes, which were now on its mouth, moving erratically across its face.

Its nose was embedded in its skull, and its mouth opened and closed as the eyes moved, revealing faces filled with blood instead of tongues or teeth.

Despite its bizarre form, the creature moved swiftly. Its limbs wriggled, and it crawled to Li Fan's position in no time. The grotesque faces in its mouth seemed about to cover his face.

Li Fan roared: "Die!"

The Great Five Elements Annihilation Sword continuously emitted light as he retreated.

However, to his horror, the black sword light did not have its usual effect on the creature. It made a series of cracking sounds as its bones twisted and compressed.

Despite this, the creature barely paused before charging at Li Fan faster than ever. Even with over a hundred sword lights fired in quick succession, it showed no signs of injury.

"Damn!"

Seeing the creature about to pounce, Li Fan cursed and was about to activate Truly Real Technique when something unexpected happened. The twisted creature did not attack but instead knelt before him, bowing repeatedly.

It wailed pitifully as its eyes, now on its mouth, bled tears. It seemed eager to say something, but only more blood faces appeared in its mouth, unable to convey its thoughts.

"What is this?"

Li Fan was still shaken by the creature's actions and paused the activation of Truly Real Technique. He patiently tried to understand what it was saying: "Heaven... Medicine..."

The words echoed in his mind as if influenced by the Abyss's demonic sounds. Li Fan asked, "Heaven, medicine?"

The twisted creature let out a heart-wrenching wail and slammed its head hard into the ground.
