第三百零一章 初见天玄镜

"Only one chance," Ji Hongdao's tone was stern.

The students all understood that such an opportunity might come around only once in a lifetime, no matter how good their mindset was, they couldn't help but feel anxious and eager.

Ahead of them, Ji Hongdiao took out a communication spirit token. It seemed he was contacting someone. After a moment, he nodded and ended the call. He then retrieved an azure-tinted small mirror from his storage ring.

He tossed it up, hanging high above everyone's heads. Next, he pulled out a silver jade slip and gently crushed it. Instantly, countless chaotic characters emerged from the jade slip.

Ji Hongdiao cast a spell, and those characters flew towards the azure-tinted small mirror in the sky according to a specific order.

Li Fan squinted his eyes as he saw that text segments appeared rapidly on the surface of the mirror.

The characters kept changing. After absorbing these texts from the jade slip, the ordinary-looking azure-tinted small mirror began to undergo strange changes.

A faint glow emanated from the mirror's outline before it started dissolving and vanishing. The mirror’s surface lost its constraints and quickly expanded outward.

In a blink of an eye, what was once a palm-sized mirror transformed into a massive door over three hundred feet high by one hundred feet wide.

The towering mirror did not reflect the surroundings; instead, silver light flowed across it.

As everyone marveled at this transformation, Ji Hongdiao flew to the mirror's front and cast a spell. A silver beam shot out from the mirror’s surface, enveloping him. A segment of text appeared on the mirror momentarily before vanishing.

It seemed that confirming his identity, the beam faded, followed by a black streak appearing in the center of the mirror.

In an instant, it expanded to cover the entire mirror's surface. A rectangular spatial portal appeared before them. "This is..."

"Any one of these azure mirrors can be used as a node to open space transmission?"

"It seems we need both password and personnel confirmation," Li Fan guessed based on the previous scenes.

"Follow me through the identity verification of the mirror, then you may enter the passage." With that said, Ji Hongdiao flew into the portal first. The students, eager with excitement, followed closely behind.

Whenever someone was about to approach the passage, a silver beam descended from above and locked them in place.

If there were no anomalies, the beam would instantly disappear, indicating successful verification.

"This seems similar to the Heavenly Azure Locking Spirit Array," Li Fan thought as he entered the spatial portal with the others.

A dizzying sensation hit him immediately.

The feeling was akin to ultra-distance teleportation, as if time and space were stretched, distorting his perception.

In an instant, it felt like being torn from a film covering his entire body. Li Fan fell into a strange space where all colors vanished instantly, replaced by shades of gray and white.

Black lines streaked in from afar, brushing past the students' bodies or even passing through them towards the infinite distance.

White lines shot out from above or below, heading in opposite directions.

Occasionally, black and white lines collided, intertwining until forming a fleeting, ephemeral point.

These points of nothingness persisted for varying durations. Some lasted just a moment, while others lingered for several breaths before vanishing completely.

Just as the students were marveling at this surreal scene, their perspectives suddenly zoomed out infinitely high. They saw that in this vast and seemingly boundless world, black and white lines seemed to move without any pattern or followed some unseen rules, colliding and merging. New ephemeral points of nothingness flickered into existence before fading away.

"Supposedly, all the secrets of the world are hidden within these blacks and whites," Ji Hongdiao lamented with a sigh. "Let's go; the new mirror surface is ahead."

Ji Hongdiao casually grabbed a black line passing by. Instantly, his form followed the black line, vanishing from their sight.

The students mimicked him, grabbing nearby black lines as well. It seemed they had merged into one with the black lines, and the previously fast-moving gray world slowed down dramatically in Li Fan's eyes.

As they moved towards their distant goal, white lines moving up or down would actively avoid them.

Li Fan marveled at this scene while riding a makeshift vehicle.

After some time, they reached the edge of this gray-white world. The black line faded away, and one by one, everyone returned to their original forms. Ahead was a colorful glow that stood out starkly against the gray-white surroundings.

Having been in this colorless world for so long, Li Fan felt an inexplicable disgust when he saw the swirling, distorted colors nearby.

Gray and colored lines collided and rubbed against each other silently.

Despite no sound, Li Fan could feel two powerful forces competing and shaking the space.

In the clash, a part of the colorful mass seemed to be cut off by gray lines.

The colorless part floated at the edge of the space. After some time, a faint glow appeared on both the gray and colored parts simultaneously.

The originally gray-white entities began to gradually become more translucent and clear.

Ji Hongdiao did not speak, but the students understood that what they were witnessing was the birth process of new mirror surfaces for the Heavenly Azure Locking Spirit Array.

They all focused intently, deeply perceiving. Li Fan, however, was momentarily lost in thought as he surveyed his surroundings and then felt his body. Time seemed to speed up.

Bright lights flashed continuously, gray vanished, and one by one, new mirror surfaces emerged.

Some remained stationary while others suddenly disappeared, unknown where they went. Overall, most floated near the edge of the gray world.

The number of mirror surfaces grew rapidly until a moment came when countless black and white fine lines surged from the gray world towards the newborn mirrors.

Interwoven with black and white threads, it seemed like the most intricate loom weaving clothes for these new-borns. When the mirror surfaces were fully covered by the woven fabric, black and white fused instantly into a perfectly smooth sphere where both colors flowed chaotically.

"This is the core of the Heavenly Azure Locking Spirit Array," Ji Hongdiao's voice echoed just as it was needed.

"Did you see clearly?" The voice faded away. All around them, the scene froze and shattered.
