第1538章 寓言最终章

Each of the living beings born in the sea once received infinite lifespan from the sea, even causing disputes with the mountains. However, later on, these beings were never elevated further; there was no change between the mountain and the sea.

Curious about their fates, Yun Hao carefully read through the remaining pages of the allegory. After reading it several times, he finally felt a strange expression: "These living beings born in the sea... or rather, the beings of the mountains and seas, do they refer to all existence outside the mountains and seas?"

"Mountains and seas merging is inevitable; this is the fundamental reason for the Dào Yān disaster."

"Those who cannot bear the fusion of mountains and seas will be completely annihilated by them."

After pondering for a while, Yun Hao reached an absurd conclusion. It seemed that most of what was recorded in this allegory occurred before or after the emergence of worldly civilization.

To Yun Hao, the seemingly endless years were merely two insignificant chapters in this allegory.

"The Dào Yān is the end of the world, but not the end of the mountains and seas."

"Stars appear, mountains and seas are no longer visible. This is what was not recorded in the allegory."

Feeling a sense of loss, Yun Hao carefully re-examined the remaining chapters of the allegory.

He confirmed his judgment and found more questions arising: "Who wrote this allegory?"

"If my guess is correct, then someone who witnessed the complete annihilation of the world can record the phenomena in the mountains and seas. This..."

Yun Hao suddenly thought about what Tai Tian Di mentioned - traveling back from the end of time to unite with past cultivators across space and time to save the world.

"Could this be left by a powerful figure from the future, at the end of time?"

"What role does Sun Pi Mao play in all of this?"

With too many unanswered questions, Yun Hao temporarily put them aside. He continued reading through the remaining chapters of the allegory, mostly records of interactions between mountains and seas with unclear meanings.

One chapter particularly caught his attention: one day, the mountain was silent and gloomy; the sea asked but received no answer. After repeated questioning, a series of thunderbolts could be heard from within the mountain.

The sea was overjoyed: "Mountain, you've also changed? This is good! Why are you unhappy?"

The mountain sighed: "Sea, for us, change might not be something to celebrate."

"Have you forgotten the results of our initial changes?"

The sea still argued: "But didn't we create you and me as a result? Mountain, don't resist. Try accepting them."

The mountain remained silent.

Afterward, thunderbolts grew louder in the mountains.

One day, both the mountains and seas trembled; the sound of thunder eventually faded away...

"The changes between mountains and seas," Yun Hao vaguely sensed something from this chapter but couldn't put his finger on it. It felt like a veil that couldn't be shaken off, causing immense discomfort.

"These notes that were torn out seem to represent significant events in the mountains and seas."

"Even though the extinction of worldly civilization only occupies a small portion of these chapters, what does 'the changes between mountains and seas' refer to? Could it be possible that there were beings similar to those in the current world in the mountains and seas?"

"They all perished one after another?" Yun Hao mused.

There was also an interesting chapter that made him feel slightly fearful and...

strange. If this allegory recorded events between the mountains and seas, then this particular chapter seemed out of place, as if forcibly inserted.

It detailed how the first creature to cross from sea to mountain discovered the existence of the mountain in the sea. The vastness of the mountains and seas made it impossible for them to recognize their true form while living there. However, one day, a creature approached the edge of the sea and suddenly looked up, seemingly catching sight of the mountain's silhouette.

That figure, as vast as the sea itself, filled its heart with instinctive fear, curiosity, excitement...

Afterward, it tried every possible method to finally cross the sea using the wind and waves, reaching the peak of a great mountain. Born in the sea, standing on the mountain.

Its vision suddenly became incredibly far-reaching.

Thus...

Its gaze extended beyond the mountains and seas.

Looking at what lay beyond them.
