上架感言

After 66 days of posting, I've written over 270,000 words. Finally, it's time to reach the shelf.

This book has come a long way, and I want to thank everyone for your continued support throughout its journey during the Sanjiang recommendation period.

Let me talk about some issues that arose during the writing process.

Why did ancient research on matchlock guns lead to such an absurd leap in technology? Why can't firearms be used in the world of cultivation?

Many readers have been puzzled by these questions, something I hadn’t anticipated.

How many years have you all read books for? In my memory, around a decade ago, there were countless穿越小说 (transmigration novels) that delved into modern technology. No one complained about their unrealistic nature back then. I merely skipped certain processes to keep the story moving.

As for why firearms can't be used in the world of cultivation, every cultivation novel could ask this question.

Why? Because I wrote a cultivation novel. That's how I set it up. If real-world technology-based weapons were usable in the world of cultivation, Li Fan would have kept reincarnating to forge an ironclad army and reverse-engineer the cultivation realm. That’s another story altogether.

There are many such minor issues. Perhaps my planning was inadequate, leading to readers now being so nitpicky.

Overall, these aren't major problems.

What truly had a fatal impact on the structure of this book is that Li Fan's first arrival in the world of cultivation and his discovery of the沧海桑田 (transformation of the sea) happened too quickly.

My original outline was as follows:

Li Fan struggled to reach Lustrous Isle, joining the fleet after much effort.

He then outsmarted Zhang Haobo, taking over the captain's position by leveraging treasures hidden in the water.

Afterward, he washed away his immortal-demon mist with a spirit pool and eventually arrived at Ten Thousand Immortals Island several years later.

There, he completed tasks for some time before earning enough contributions to obtain an aqueous attribute cultivation technique.

I thought that from then on, his cultivation journey would be smooth sailing. However, in just a few years, the water attribute spiritual energy in the universe became scarce.

His progress slowed down significantly.

The entire Cunyun Sea was sealed off, allowing entry but not exit.

Panic spread among cultivators, and killings began to increase.

Li Fan had no choice but to escape Ten Thousand Immortals Island and hide on a remote island.

Later, as the sea dried up, he realized why his experiences in both lifetimes differed so much.

...

I originally planned to write at least one hundred chapters before revealing the twist.

Like with The Master of Supremacy, I intended to lay enough groundwork before the plot turned.

However, I had to change my mind mid-way through.

Because when this book reached ten thousand words, it only had over a hundred collections.

I couldn't even try pushing for more readers at that point. If I stuck to the original outline, it would have been a disaster.

So, I sped up the pace and completed the twist in just forty chapters.

While the results started looking better after that, they still lacked something meaningful.

The story was too rushed, leading to many hard-to-fix issues, like newly discovered underwater treasures that seemed out of place.

I tried my best to resolve them.

Another issue is that the cooldown time for Xuanhuang Refining Heart Spell was shortened too much. When I set it up, I underestimated the time and reduced it by eleven years directly.

This forced me to fill those eleven years before moving on with the previous lifetime's plot.

It also caused many readers' complaints about slow progress because I had to consider future story developments for the next lifetime.

These two issues significantly affected the structure of this book. Other minor details didn't impact much.

Now, let’s discuss some common reader feedback:

1. The main character's cultivation advancement is too slow. This isn’t a traditional level-up story. With his Hundred Lives Technique, one lifetime's progress means nothing to him.

2. The main character has too many advantages. Can the current skill configuration make him an opponent for the Transcendent Sage who imparts cultivation techniques? If you rely on someone else’s teachings, how can you fight?

So, I need to continue giving him more advantages.

3. The issue with Xuanhuang Refining Heart Spell for Foundation Establishment. Xuanhuang involves aspects of time law and cannot be used for Foundation Establishment in the early stages.

How exactly he uses Xuanhuang for Foundation Establishment remains to be seen.

...

Here are some clarifications:

I am indeed a new author, not someone else's alter ego.

My writing is still somewhat immature, so please bear with me as I strive to improve.

Your encouragement means a lot to me.

Although my work isn't perfect, I won’t beg for sympathy.

Most of the time, I write out of interest.

Balancing part-time work and being new, I spend over four hours daily writing 4,000 words. It’s already challenging enough.

Hopefully, as my brain speed improves, my typing efficiency will increase.

As Confucius said in his first lesson on cultivation:

"Some mountains may appear towering but are actually fated to end their journey; they can never advance further. Others might be just small hills now, but who knows if they'll one day become pillars of the sky?"

"Take Lesser Micro Mountain as an example. It was unremarkable at first, yet it has already dominated all other mountains in just a few decades."

"Of course, most mountains are like those hidden beneath the clouds; they remain mere background, silently admiring the peaks above."

"Mountains may be so, how much more so for people?"

This quote is also meant to inspire me.

At that time, this book had less than one hundred collections while others already had thousands.

I could only motivate myself with such perseverance.

Now, supported by your encouragement, this book’s performance has surpassed most of its contemporaries.

Once again, thank you all for your support.

Thank you to everyone who voted and tipped.

Also, thank you to Editor拂尘 for your continuous assistance.

The book will go on shelf at 12 PM tomorrow. There might be a slight delay.

I'll release three chapters consecutively first, then add two more later in the evening.

If you think this story is worth it, please consider a first subscription.

See you all tomorrow!
