第一千零四十八章 传法者相会

"Not bad, you've made some progress."

"The acting has become more realistic, and the plot has finally started to make sense," the white-haired old man commented.

The leading black-clothed cultivator was agitated. "Senior, you must have misunderstood! You see, I swear!"

He hurriedly ordered his companions to release the array binding on the white-haired old man: "Senior, you are now free. Can't you stop acting now?"

The white-haired old man's eyes narrowed slightly. "Back when the Dark Prison was built, it was done by my own hands. If I truly wanted to leave, how could that place really contain me?"

"Even this much is unclear..."

His disbelief grew.

"I told you they were all liars. Senior, let me follow you instead. As a lone wanderer, even if I had ill intentions, I wouldn't be your match," Li Fan said with a smile, observing the situation.

Yet, despite his words, he showed no intention of approaching or welcoming the old man.

"You brat..." The white-haired old man was having trouble understanding this young man in front of him.

The mission that should have been executed smoothly had ended up stalemated in an unexpected way. With each passing second, there was a greater chance of being discovered by the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance.

The leading cultivator grew increasingly anxious as he gritted his teeth and decided to take action, wanting to control the old man first before bringing him back forcefully.

Suddenly, a clear sigh echoed above them all.

"Old Man Wei, you're still so self-righteous."

As soon as the voice appeared, the black-clothed cultivators' faces lit up with joy: "Senior Zhou!"

The white-haired old man, also known as Transmitter Wei, felt his aura change dramatically. His hazy eyes suddenly shone with clarity and stared upwards.

A woman in a simple white robe, her face delicate and beautiful, appeared silently.

Transmitter Wei scrutinized her for a moment before seeming to be taken aback: "Sure enough, it's really you..."

He looked at the group of black-clothed cultivators, his expression turning strange. "So, these little guys are telling the truth?"

Transmitter Zhou sighed again.

"Too many schemes and tricks make everything seem fake."

"The Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance has been through a lot recently. I suspect that the Transmitter Council is corrupt, which is why I wanted to bring you out of retirement."

"But if I were to come myself, I would surely see your smug face. That's why I sent these little guys instead."

"I didn't expect..."

Transmitter Zhou's tone was peculiar, lacking energy.

The white-haired old man's expression froze for a moment upon hearing this.

But soon, he burst into laughter, dispelling the awkwardness.

To divert their attention, he immediately fixed his gaze on Li Fan. "Since you're really here, what about this boy?"

Li Fan remained unperturbed and bowed slightly: "I've come to meet the two seniors."

"This farce was just to see you," he said with a smile.

Transmitter Wei and Zhou exchanged glances, their faces showing amusement.

"Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance people are coming soon. Let's change locations."

Transmitter Zhou waved her slender hand in the air, creating a spatial portal. The black-clothed cultivators flew into it.

The white-haired old man turned to Li Fan: "Boy, do you have the courage to follow me inside?"

Li Fan pondered for a moment before entering the small world with them.

"Eh? Here..."

When he took in his surroundings, Li Fan almost thought he was experiencing another illusion. The architectural style of this small world was eerily similar to the one he had lived in before his arrival.

Tall skyscrapers stood everywhere.

The night sky was dark and drizzled with fine rain.

Numerous neon lights on the building's exterior adorned the city, making it look strange and colorful under the night.

This familiar yet distant scene left Li Fan momentarily stunned.

Transmitter Wei also seemed unadjusted. "How does it look? Quite nice, right? I went to the Blissful Paradise for a vacation and found this scenery pleasant. So, I brought it here."

Transmitter Zhou's voice slowly echoed.

Li Fan turned to see her in new attire: a neat white blouse and tight black pants. She even wore black-framed glasses, looking more like a modern woman than a Transmitter.

"Your taste..."

"Still so unreasonable," Transmitter Wei shook his head, disapprovingly.

"You're still stuck in the past, annoying." Transmitter Zhou retorted.

"I think it's good. Especially this outfit suits you well," Li Fan interjected.

The two Transmitters' gazes fell on Li Fan simultaneously.

"Ha ha, a young man's perspective is much better than that of some old things. This is why I like to collect young people," Transmitter Zhou said with a smile as she sized up Li Fan.

"Young man, if you have any ulterior motives, just come out and say it. My patience is very limited," Transmitter Wei's expression was not so pleasant.

But Li Fan could tell that Wei's anger was merely pretense.

The three of them were now on the top floor of the tallest building in the city, with a vast view of the bustling metropolis through the large glass windows. The entire floor, except for the central desk and sofa, was covered in red carpeting.

Li Fan sat comfortably on the sofa as if at home and began to recount his reasons for seeking out Transmitter Zhou: "I want to know what happened at the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance headquarters five years ago."

"And where is the true Heavenly Profound Mirror now?"

Transmitter Wei, who had been locked up for many years, was still trying to figure things out.

Transmitter Zhou's expression gradually changed from indifferent to curious as she carefully examined Li Fan. "Appearing before me out of nowhere and demanding such confidential information."

"Little guy, where is your confidence coming from?"

Zhou's tone turned cold: "Just an Incarnation Soul cultivation. Even if the void was vast, it still remains within the realm of Incarnation Soul."

"Dare to talk to me like that?"

Li Fan remained calm: "I always speak this way when addressing Transmitters. You didn't attack but instead tried to probe my strength, which shows where my confidence lies."

The atmosphere instantly became tense again.

But with a charming smile from Transmitter Zhou, the tension broke.

"You're right."

"I haven't seen such an excellent young man in a long time. How about you become part of my collection?"

"If you agree, any secret you want to know, I can tell you," Transmitter Zhou's tone returned to its previous laziness.
